Located in the Upper Kullu Valley Bhrigu Lake is a high-altitude glacial lake at an elevation of 4304m which offers amazing views. It is a trek open for all from both beginners and families to seasoned trekkers. The trek offers terrific views of meadows and grasslands along with the sightings of the seven sisters. The frozen lake and snow-covered mountains enhance the beauty of nature.

The trek takes you on an astonishing journey which starts from Manali. From Manali the trek could also be done from Gulaba meadows which is relatively easier than approach from Vashisht. The climb gets a little steeper as the trek leads from Vashisht traversing through the dense forests of Silver Oaks, Birch and Deodar until it open up at Pandu Ropa meadows. While on the way one can catch glimpses of Manali and Solang Valley, peaks of both Pir Pinjal and Dhauladhar ranges are also visible. To reach Bhrigu Lake a snowy and mixed rocky trek at an altitude of 4304 m has to be done but the scenic beauty is worth it all once you reach there.

Arrival at Vashisht Village

We expect you to reach Vashisht Village before afternoon, this day is reserved for the acclimatization at Manali and preparations, evenings would be spent on discussions and briefings for the coming days. Accommodation in Hotel.

Vashisht Village to Pandu Ropa(3589m) -8 Km trek

To start this day early, our team will have a briefing session the evening before in Manali, In the morning we would start on the trail from Vashisht village that initially goes through farms and before merging into the forest, the trail through forest is a gradual mix, with small sections of steep zig-zag climb across the cliff side sections. Jogini Waterfall and a few small others can be heard and seen along the way. The trail opens over the top of the tree line into a vast meadow which is snow covered from November to May. Accommodation in camps.

Pandu ropa (3589m) to Bhrigu Lake (4304m) to Pandu ropa (3589m)- 6 km Trek

This day we will walk across the snow covered meadow with views of mountains like Friendship Peak, Hanuman Tibba, Shitidhar, Ladakhi. The confluence of Dhauladhar Range and Pir Panjal Range can be seen from here. The lake is like a small crater situated on a small CWM on top of the mountain. After spending some time on the lake we will head back the same way to reach back to our camp.
