A snowy trail through deep forests & vast meadows that takes you up to the summit of a peak in the peak winter months, Kedarkantha! This peak stands at an altitude of 3800 meters making it an experience for each kind of trekker. The mountain is situated in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand and due to its geographical setting, this trek is accessible throughout the year. It is astonishingly beautiful in the months of winter due to the amount of snowfall this region receives. The mountaintop offers a mesmerizing 360-degree view of the Garhwal Himalayas, which is something that words can’t explain! Winters in Garhwal Himalayas await you.

Dehradun To Sankri (1920 m)- 190 km

The drive to Sankri from Dehradun goes through small places like Mussoorie, Nowgaon, Purola and Mori. Most part of the drive goes through a dense pine forest with the essence of pinewood scent. The road goes along Tons River after Mori. The ride gets a little bumpy from here onwards. For the night, accommodation in a guesthouse.

Sankri (1920 m) to Juda Ka Talab
(2775 m)- 4 km trek

Starting early from Sankri the path takes us along the village walkways through some farms and a lot of early customs and traditions happening all around. The path soon will lead us to another village, Saud, which would further follow to the Kedarkantha meadows. It is a gradual ascent through the pine forest and gains elevation just before we reach the connecting ridge of the mountain. Walking along the ridge we would make our way into the forest of Pine and Maple. Soon, the trail suddenly opens up to the small lake named Juda ka Talab. Overnight camp at the Lakeside.

Juda Ka Talab (2775 m) to Kedarkantha Base camp (3430 m)- 4 km trek

Moving ahead early we will follow the trail that takes us further into the forests. The path soon opens up to the meadows of Kedarkantha, and a small gradual ascent will take us to Kedarkantha Base camp. The campsite is perched in the middle of beautiful Himalayan vistas; beautiful mountain ranges in the distance make it a perfect location for photography. Overnight in camps.

Kedarkantha Base camp (3430 m) to Kedarkantha summit (3810 m) to Hargaon (2713 m)- 8 km trek

We will start post breakfast in the earliest hours of the morning, and try to reach the summit before sunrise to witness the magic from the top. The path is a gradual ascent to the top and in winter it is covered with snow mostly. The summit is not at a far distance and it will hardly take any time to reach the top. The view from the top is just fantastic as the whole 360-degree view comprises high-rising towers of the Himalayas and many ranges of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are visible. After some time on top, we will head back to the base camp and further onto the path to Hargaon.
