Located in the Dhauladhar range of the Kangra region is a small

pyramid-shaped mountain structure known as the Moon Peak. It is one of the many peaks in the massive mountain range that dominated the whole Kangra region. Standing tall at an elevation of 4900m, the moon peak is a tough climb which requires mountaineering gear & semi-technical climbing techniques. During the climb, the trekkers will cross over Indrahar pass from Kangra valley which eventually joins the north side which lies on the Chamba side of the mountain.

This trail offers a scenic route which is distributed over forests, small meadows, connecting ridges, caves, boulder fields & snow-laden gullies. This route will eventually take the group to a steep slope under the summit which is a mix of snow & ice. It's very common among trekkers to visit the foothills of Moon peak as they make their way to Triund & Snowline.

Arrive at Mcleodganj (2082 m) to Dharamkot Village (2100m)

We expect you to reach Bhagsu nag by evening, from here our transport team member will drive you to the hotel/guest house. Introduction to the team and briefing session.

Dharamkot Village (2100 m) to Laka Got (3352)

The Trail is very gradual and goes through forest along the mountain face. After the first few kilometers the trail gets a little steep before opening up to the ridge of Triund. Triund is a very famous location with a lot of tea shops and a beautiful view of a few massive mountains of Dhauladhar range. The trail goes further through the meadow to sparsely dense forest before reaching up to the flat ridge connecting to laka glacier. Overnight camps.

Lahesh caves (3708 m) to Indrahar Pass (4350 m) to Moon peak (4900 m) to Laka got

Today is a challenging day as we will be heading towards the summit of moon peak. We will start at the earliest and may have to use the artificial lights. The trail is roughly marked by cairns at some points and it is a steep ascent to the Indrahar pass and runs through mostly moraines. Indrahar pass can be a tough challenge for anyone who is under-prepared. On reaching the Indrahar pass the view of the whole kangra valley is a treat that keeps you delighted. After making it to the top of the pass we will descend sharply and traverse to reach below the Moon peak and we will use fixed ropes to climb the last section to the summit. The view of the Chamba valley and Kangra valley from the top of the mountain is mesmerizing.After some time at top we will descend back to the same trail following it to reach Laka got and camp there for the night.
