Right in the middle of the Gangotri National Park, Vasuki Tal is a sacred lake situated at an altitude of 4135m. This lake is surrounded by astonishingly beautiful high mountains of the Himalayan giants such as Mt. Shivling, Mt. Meru, Mt. Thelu and many others. Vasuki Tal has also been mentioned in ancient Hindu scriptures Lord Vishnu took a bath in it at the time of Raksha Bandhan which purified this lake. This trek has been graded as moderate to challenging as it involves crossing multiple glaciers & boulders. The Vasuki Tal Trek route passes via Tapovan, a stunning alpine meadow with spiritual significance for Hindus, and Gaumukh, the source of the powerful river Ganga. This walk provides hikers with a rare opportunity to experience nature at its finest because it is still relatively unexplored. You must have some past expertise with Himalayan trekking in order to complete the Vasuki Tal Trek.
